Ethiopia 5000 laying hen cage farm design

The total area of the chicken house is 240 square meters (20 meters long x 12 meters wide). And it will be divide into 4 rows, with 8 sets of A-type layer cages in each row. Each cage set measures 1950mm (length) x 450mm (width) x 410mm (height), with a 4-tier design, each tier having 4 doors, totaling 16 doors per set.

A poultry farmer from Ethiopia plans to raise 5000 layers in a chicken house measuring 20 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and 3.5 meters in height using A type chicken cage. To achieve this, he has chosen 32 sets of A-type layer cages provided by Livi Machinery. Each cage set measures 1950450410mm, has 4 tiers, and each tier contains 4 doors. The entire chicken house will be organize into 4 rows with 8 sets of cages per row. The A-type chicken cage are equipped with drinking systems to ensure the basic water needs of the chickens.

Chicken House Design

1. Layout of the Chicken House:

The total area of the chicken house is 240 square meters (20 meters long x 12 meters wide). And it will be divide into 4 rows, with 8 sets of A-type layer cages in each row. Each cage set measures 1950mm (length) x 450mm (width) x 410mm (height), with a 4-tier design, each tier having 4 doors, totaling 16 doors per set.

2. Cage Arrangement:

Each row consists of 8 cage sets, with a total length of 8 x 1.95 meters = 15.6 meters, leaving 4.4 meters (20 meters – 15.6 meters) for aisles on both sides, approximately 2.2 meters per side.

The total width of the cages is 450mm (0.45 meters), with 4 rows placed side by side, 4 x 0.45 meters = 1.8 meters, leaving 10.2 meters (12 meters – 1.8 meters) for the central aisle and side aisles, approximately 5.1 meters per side.

3. Aisle Design:

The central aisle is 5.1 meters wide, allowing for easy worker access and equipment movement.

The side aisles are 2.2 meters wide, ensuring workers can easily care for the chickens.

Drinking System

The A-type cages are equipped with automatic poultry nipple drinker, and directly connected to the central water supply system of the chicken house, ensuring all chickens have sufficient water.
